From Carter to The Now --
The *Logica de la libreria*.
Neither Roger Brown
Nor "all the king's men"
Can put Quinean insouciance together again
Therewith.

2021 Close-Out Sale: Unfortunately, there a lot of well-off guys who dress like Foucault today.
(It's more like you could "catch his enthusiasms" from them, rather than that they share his politics.)

Sane Foucauldeans:
Do you suppose that the logic of *Les mots et les choses* could be explained thusly?
The 'logic of similitude', a la the early modern era, rules in one's youth: "such proportions must be weighed carefully".
The 'image of man' Foucault seems to critique must be part of any 'modernist' period --
And when that washes up like something carved in the sand, one has entered a 'postmodern' period where one is both
1) uninformed and 2) unprepared for the consequences of that ignorance.

2022 Update: An important book, but it's "oversold" and undersold relative to *Discipline and Punish*.
