*Ressentimént*.

Now that I've got your attention, /please to consider/ Adam Smith and
What He Hath *Wrot* as
regards "the progress of moral sentiments" in This Hideous Modernité.
The guy was a "fool", and *damn good* at it; /consequently/ [HELPS ME]
the state of His England started to /wear/ fantastically and a
"fantastical" story of What's Next con-structed! [This excites you,
the exclamation point. Not 'Fatha'.] In fact, /in all probability/
(cue Ramsey *solamente*) they took all of Adam's wealth and He Cared
Not; so --

A 'fantastical' [This word again] world-system of England & English
"sentiment" constructed by the famous now-*economist* for David Hume &
Everybody. "Profits of stock"? 'Awright!' And thusly. 'What the world
will bring to you', it will bring out of the *unpragmatic* character
of Smith's economic text on "Everything and Everyone" [CODE COUVERTE]
and not out of "Just-So Stories" as regards now-British *Moralitat*
[!]; suddenly New-York "knew the time" and it still does so hey.

An "inventiveness"? Sho.

Had this state continued, the wages of labour would have augmented
with all those improvements in its productive powers to which the
division of labour gives occasion. All things would gradually have
become cheaper. They would have been produced by a smaller quantity of
labour; and as the commodities produced by equal quantities of labour
would naturally in this state of things be exchanged for one another,
they would have been purchased likewise with the produce of a smaller
quantity.

"Of the Wages of Labour"

A *criticisme* [!!]? Whynot.

"To be happy one must be (a) well fed, unhounded by sordid cares, at
ease in Zion, (b) full of a comfortable feeling of superiority to the
masses of one's fellow men, and (c) delicately and unceasingly amused
according to one's taste. It is my contention that, if this definition
be accepted, there is no country in the world wherein a man
constituted as I am — a man of my peculiar weakness, vanities,
appetites, and aversions — can be so happy as he can be in the United
States."

On Being An American [?]
1922

A "celebration" intimated *above*:
