"Explanation"

The world of literature and writing only enlightens us, ideally, as we see fit. If there is any compulsory character to it, it is that *en bloc* fiction and non-fiction texts of some reputation form the enlightened opinion of the times.

Anybody, anybody at all, can make a somewhat *willkuerlich* selection from available texts: their "faves", as they were. However, texts in general also continue to "say what they say", i.e. power exactly the hypothetical reasoning that they do.

The purpose of "general education" is to introduce to the mass of people an *arbitrary but non-misleading* selection of tropes and facts. Perhaps these four names in current circulation do this. Perhaps they do not.
